the study of the role of agriculture in rural development: miyankangi district in sistan

the main function of rural areas in the third world is the agricultural function which is crucially important because of its great effects on employment, moderating income and poverty, food security and self-efficacy. this article studies the role of agriculture (as an independent variable) in rural development (related variable) of miyankangi district in sistan. the method of the study was descriptive – analytical and the data were collected through standard rural and family questionnaires. for analyzing the data, the researchers used multivariate analysis and correlation tests. the sample of the study included 372 people taken randomly from 40 villages. the variance observed in the four dimensions of agricultural power showed that the social dimension with a coefficient of 12% was the most homogeneous dimension, while productive dimension with a coefficient of 35% was the most heterogeneous one. among the rural developmental dimensions, the social one with a coefficient of 14% was the most appropriate and the ecological dimension with a coefficient of 26% was the most inappropriate one. the correlation test showed a significant relation between the two independent and related variables. based on the multivariate analysis, the productive dimension has explained 40.30% of the variance of the related variable. in general, the four agricultural dimensions have explained 52.4% of the changes of rural development.
